Truck Tarp
Collection

M-24 already had something that worked. Our job was to make it better, improved carry comfort, cleaner construction, a more finished interior, and magnetic hardware that matched the quality of the material's story. Five SKUs, all made in the UK, every bag still one of a kind.

Improving a product that already had fans without losing what they loved

M-24 had a winning silhouette. Customers liked the bags, the tarp story resonated, and UK handmade production mattered. We weren't starting over. We were fixing the friction points in feedback that were stopping it from being genuinely excellent.

The original construction was functional but felt handmade in unintentional ways. Strap comfort was poor. Internal organisation was minimal. The base didn't hold structure under load. The construction had inefficiencies that made production harder than necessary.

The challenge: fix all of that across five formats, wash bag, duffel, large roll top, medium roll top, messenger bag, without overengineering a product whose character depends on feeling made rather than manufactured.

Five formats refreshed as a coherent collection

The improvements were applied consistently across the range so the collection stayed coherent. Each format received the same core upgrades, padded straps, structured base, internal lining, magnetic hardware, adapted to each bag's proportions and use.

  • Wash bag: compact proportions retained, lining and organisation added, refined hardware
  • Duffel: structured base piece added, shoulder strap system improved, internal layout organised
  • Large roll top: main format, full strap refresh, added front pocket, magnetic closure hardware
  • Medium roll top: same improvements as the large, scaled construction to match
  • Messenger bag: additional pocketing, refined strap attachment, internal organisation panel

New SKUs are in development, extending the range. The core collection is now ready to scale. Every unit is still cut from a different tarp section. Same design language, completely different bag.

Specific improvements, applied with precision

The strap system was redesigned with padding across all formats. Tarpaulin is heavier than most bag materials. Unpadded straps become uncomfortable fast. This was the most direct carry comfort fix, and customers had been asking for it.

The base on roll tops was redesigned as a separate structural piece. It gives the bag shape when set down, lets it stand independently, and makes construction cleaner. The base gets assembled and checked before the body attaches.

Magnetic hardware at the roll top closure adds a premium interaction point that suits the material. PVC tarpaulin's visual weight calls for hardware that feels considered, not purely functional. The magnets also make daily use faster without compromising security.

Internal lining and pockets were added across the range. Partly function, laptop sleeve, card slots, partly finish. A clean interior makes the product feel complete, not raw. That matters when the exterior is visibly upcycled.

Complementing the exterior rather than competing with it

The tarp is the product. Every panel selection decides which part of the tarp's history shows. The fading gradients, wear marks, colour shifts. A refresh doesn't change that. It's the whole point.

The refresh added a considered interior. The lining sits cleanly alongside the industrial exterior. Not trying to make the bag feel like something it isn't. Just a proper finish. The pockets and laptop sleeve use the same lining, so the interior feels designed, not just functional.

The magnetic hardware adds a premium interaction without conflicting with the tarp. Heavy-duty magnets feel appropriate at PVC's scale and weight. Lightweight plastic would look wrong.

Every bag unique

A collection that earned its audience, now built to keep them

The refresh took a product with genuine fans and addressed what was limiting it. Better carry comfort, a finished interior, magnetic hardware, a construction system that's easier to produce consistently. Without touching the core identity that made them worth refreshing.

The tarp story is intact. Every bag is still one of a kind. The difference is the product now matches the quality of the story it tells.
